IT4IT Standard:

The Open Group IT Service Management Standard

The IT4IT Standard, developed by the Open Group, uses an IT Value Chain and an IT4IT Reference Architecture for representing the IT service lifecycle.  IT4IT provides missing links between industry standard best practices and the technology framework and tools that power the IT service management ecosystem.  The IT4IT standard provide the foundation on which IT organizations can base their IT operating model.  The IT Value Chain and IT Reference Architecture deliver a blueprint to accelerate IT’s transition to becoming a service broker to the business, and addresses strategic challenges around mobility, cloud, big data, security and Bring Your Own Device (BYOD).


The operating model defined by the IT4IT standard serves the digital enterprise with support for real-world-use-cases (e.g. Cloud-sourcing, Agile, DevOps, and service broking) as well as embracing and complementing existing process frameworks and methodologies (e.g. ITIL, COBIT, SAFe, TOGAF).


The IT4IT Standard will allow organizations to:
