Topic: From zero to hero: Enterprise Architecture (TOGAF) and ITSM coexisting in harmony at G&K Services

Presentation Overview:  Come get a preview of some of the great sessions you will be able to see at FUSION 2015!!!  For our September meeting, Tom Feichtinger of Maryville Technologies to show us how G&K Services integrates Enterprise Architecture with ITSM to realize substantial savings while delivering on their business promise to clients by consistently providing superior customer service and high-quality work apparel and facility products and services.

G&K Services’ success is founded on delivering on their Customer Promise, maximizing profitability, and adapting and responding to the business climate. To support these goals, IT has to be more agile, deliver faster, and be responsive to business drivers.

In this session we examine a case study where G&K Services adopted a new EA competency and integrated it with existing IT processes to quickly realize over $1 million in savings. This was accomplished without adding any incremental staff, while fully leveraging their existing software.

G&K Services identified “big bets” to achieve their business and IT goals. Enterprise Architecture was identified as a key competency to ensure and accelerate delivery on the big bets. EA is expected to lower IT spend, delivery solutions faster, and improve IT availability, security, recoverability and performance.

Learn how G&K Services got from zero to hero:

  1. Document current state (people, business and IT process, data, applications, technology)
  2. Define the future state
  3. Develop the roadmap (use TOGAF to align with ITSM and SDLC, implement new ITSM and EA processes)
  4. Meet challenges with significant short term benefits

Participants will receive a white paper on how ITSM, EA, PMO and Financial Management can effectively co-exist.
