During the August 21st session of Central NC ITSMF LIG, we will all participate in a service management support simulation exercise.  Everyone who attends will be assigned a specific role; Service Delivery Manager, Support Desk, Performance Managers, Group Director, Technical Specialists and facilitator.

By using a complex IT  infrastructure underpinning the business services with 7 zones operating different platforms with servers, applications and databases we will ensure adequate storage, memory and processing capability.  The support structure must be managed to ensure effective performance and the ability to introduce new services via change management.  Using the G2G3 Polestar interactive gaming simulation, we will display a high impact, energetic way to accelerate understanding, involvement and acceptance across each role.  We will bring to life the issues faced by organizations as they embark on service management transformation programs, all through a realistic business scenario.  The simulation is a highly, effective enabler of change as we identify and drive change within the simulation itself.

The real value of this form of gaming is in the ability it provides to show clear business value and to provide a direct connection to IT support.  The processes are brought to life, showing how they are interdependent, how they work together and ultimately how they provide value to the business from an improvement service management capability perspective.

Following is a 3 min vimeo link for you to view a short snippet of the simulation http://vimeo.com/25496517

The meeting will be held at 5511 Capital Center Drive , Raleigh NC 27606

If you're coming from Cary or up I-40E towards Raleigh, you'll get off on the Jones Franklin Road exit. Head towards the outside of the beltline, and the entrance to capital center drive is just next to the offramp. First building on the left past the pond.

Park in the parking lot just after the building on the left. You'll enter the building on the right side. Short walk to the elevators. Take the elevator to the 3rd floor. Look for posted signs leading you to the training room.
