Join us for a morning of education, and discussion as BMC and the National Capital LIG sponsor a panel discussion on Federal Strategic Sourcing Initiative (FSSI) within the Federal Government.

Both private sector and public sector organizations are spending more and more on IT that is not tied specifically to licenses, software/systems development, and product acquisition.   In recent years, buyers have increasingly been trying to employ new tools to drive down costs and obtain the right services and solutions.  Can tools such as Strategic Sourcing and Lowest Price Technically Acceptable competitions help control costs and also delivering the needed value to organization in non-commodity and even non-product situations?

Our panel will include experts on strategic sourcing, acquisitions, and IT product and service delivery on the customer side and on the vendor side.   We will discuss and learn from successes and challenges of strategic sourcing programs, LPTA trends, managed services, and development of enterprise service management frameworks.   What are the benefits, the negative impacts, risks, challenges, and strategic imperatives that have to be considered?   Our panelists will offer their tips and suggestions on how to navigate the challenges and succeed.

Mike Smith, Director of Strategic Sourcing, Department of Homeland Security will be one of the featured panelists.  Other panelists will be announced very soon.

Bring your electronic devices to participate in real time polling of topics posed by the panel back to industry and acquisitions teams. If you have a panel question or topic, please mark it as “MAY2014PANEL” and send it to:  nationalcapitallig@itsmfusa.org

Admission:  All members, guests, and vendors must register no later than May 19, 2014.
