Global Information Management Coalition Roadshow

Taking ‘BiSL in a Box’ to the Next Level

Sept. 20th 2013, 8:30AM – 1PM including Lunch

Pinstrips, 3849 Gallagher Drive, Edina, MN

Max 30 participants – first come first served!

After the successful 2012 presentation of multiple BiSL in a Box events at LIGs across the USA, including Minneapolis, Chicago, Florida, Dallas, Pittsburgh, Houston, and Salt Lake City, itSMF USA is pleased to invite you to a ‘BiSL Roadshow’ in which you can experience the dynamics of how Information Management interacts with both the Business and IT Service Management. The Information Management Roadshow is an initiative of the ASL BiSL Foundation and is sponsored and supported by AMPG International, GamingWorks , itSMF USA, Quint Wellington Redwood, and Van Haren Publishing.

You may already know GamingWorks’ ABC of ICT and Apollo 13. BookStore® is another of their business simulations, and you will get to play a short version of the game in which you’ll fulfill a role in a book store that is investing in IT to improve revenue. You’ll explore how

  • the added value of Information Management in the IT Value Chain.
  • to organize the collaboration between the Business, Information Management and IT Service Management
  • decision-making takes place
  • to align strategy and operations

Despite being a brief 2 hour ‘taster’ of the full one-day game, you can expect to go home with

  •  insight into trends in the Information Management domain
  • a (self) reflection on your personal collaboration skills
  • more awareness on the importance of a clearly defined Information Management role
  • the value of BiSL® as a frame of reference
  • lessons learned and ideas for improvement
The game will be conducted by Mark Smalley on behalf of Quint Wellington Redwood, who are kindly sponsoring the event. Mark also works for the ASL BiSL Foundation and APMG International and is a regular speaker at international conferences. He will start off the Roadshow with a short presentation about trends in our industry and after the game he will relate your experience during the game to the BiSL framework, putting things in a theoretical perspective. The session will finish with an overview of how the various Global Information Coalition partners can help you improve your organization’s performance in the increasingly important Information Management domain.

Mark will be joined by his able-bodied itSMF USA assistants Charlie Araujo and Deborah Anthony with the itSMF USA Board of Directors, and Quint Wellington Redwood will be represented by Susan Glannan and Frank Frambach.
