itSMF USA is the United States chapter of the ITSMF international organization which has over 40 chapters. Based on the ITIL framework which was developed in the 1980s, IT Service Management has expanded to support and promote other Service Management frameworks such as ISO20000, COBIT, BS17799, PRINCE2, Six Sigma and many others. itSMF USA is a member driven organization organized in Local Interest Groups (LIGs) and Special Interest Group (SIGs) located in over 43 major metropolitan areas of the country and many others are being started (see the Local Interest Groups and Special Interest Groups areas for more information).

Since our beginning in 1997, the itSMF USA has grown to become the premier IT Service Management professional forum.  We have continuously taken exciting steps in professionalizing and expanding our capabilities and services for our membership and we're working to make this year our most exciting year yet!
